How MySQL powers Web 2.0 in the Enterprise??

Find this answer at A MySQL® White Paper

Introduction
Enterprise 2.0 is a term which has come into recent usage to describe organizations leveraging Web 2.0 technologies, applications, architectures, and business models, to deliver online, data-driven applications to their end-users. A key driver of this adoption trend includes the rapidly gaining deployment of robust, interoperable, and ubiquitous open source software. Also helping to drive this trend is the proven lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in deploying scalable open source software on x86-based Commodity Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware. Many of the biggest names on the web, like Google, Yahoo!, YouTube and Facebook, have for years run significant portions of their businesses on open source software like MySQL, and COTS hardware. Now more then ever, organizations whose primary business does not occur on the web, have begun to embrace Web 2.0. This adoption is being fueled by the need to lower costs, avoid vendor lock-in, speed deployment and increase the interoperability and exchange of data between systems, applications, employees, partners and customers.
